Culture of Origin: Greek Mythology
Origin:
Pegasus, Poseidan's issue, was born of the blood of the decapitated Medusa, or alternatively sprang from the body of Medusa at her death. Bellerephon tamed Pegasus with the aid of a golden bridle given to him by Athena. When Bellerophon tried to ride the horse to heaven, Pegasus, stung by a gadfly sent by Zeus, threw him to his death and continued the ascent alone. A kick from his hoof created Hippocrene the fountain of the Muses, to issue from Mount Helicon.
Description: Pegasus was a winged horse of the Muses.

bring inspiration;
teach us how to express ourselves eloquently;
remind us that its time to set our imagination free or see things in a completely new light and let go of all the things we have previously viewed as our own limitations;
often appear to tell us it's time to soar free and expand our beliefs and talents
