Dragon's blood is also found in the berries of other related species of tropical palm trees. It's bright red colour has led to its use as a dye. These trees are native to countries such as Borneo, Sumatra and Malasia.

Using Dragon's Blood in rituals
When this resin is burned on charcoal, expect quite a bit of smoke. Even so, it's still very pleasantly scented.
Dragon's Blood is used in all types of rituals, to add energy, power and strength. It can bring courage during difficult times. Chips of the hard resin are used in charm bags, but it's most often burned as an incense on charcoal.
The dark colour of this resin makes it an excellent ingredient in inks, and Dragon's Blood ink is used frequently for writing in Books of Shadows or any spells where writing is involved.
If unavailable, you can mix equal parts frankincense and red sandalwood for a substitute. Though it may sound exotic, it's actually a rather common item at Pagan shops or even regular herbal stores.
An old tale says that if you sprinkle Dragon's blood in the fire at midnight, you will see an image of your future mate.
