On the morning (dawn if possible) of the Spring Equinox
Gather items~
Yellow pillar candle
Honeysuckle or Hyacinth oil
Packet of seeds
Small pot, dirt
Dried spring flowers, such as Hyacinth, Daffodil, tulips.
If possible perform this ritual skyclad, this is a private ritual and should be done alone and in addition to any coven plans to celebrate Ostra later that day/evening.
Place all items on floor or table facing the East. Add 13 drops of the sweet oil into the palms of your hands and begin to anoint the yellow candle. Place the oiled candle onto the wax paper with the cut up dried spring flowers. You are "dressing" your candle to greet the spring maiden.
Light your candle and take up the oil again and draw a pentacle over your heart. Repeat these words:
"As light brings dawn,
I honor you this morn.Planting seeds of earth,
I seek your rebirth.
Maiden of Ostra, bring me into Spring."
Let your candle burn and meditate on starting a new, Ostra is a time of
new beginning's and fresh starts. Ostra is a new start for Mother Earth
and can be for you too.
