About Aine: Originally, Aine was considered a Celtic Sun Goddess and her element was fire. She is strongest around Midsummer (June 23-24 in England) and Midsummer's Eve, which is today. She is said to be the daughter of a Celtic God and that she was infatuated with demi god Fionn. Aine had sworn an oath never to sleep with a man with gray hair. She enchanted a lake and when Fionn emerged from the lake, he was young and strong, but his hair had turned grey. True to her word, she did not sleep with him. Aine is now considered to be a lunar goddess and the Queen of the Faeries. Celts would build bonfires during this time and honor Aine.
To Honor the Goddess: Aine was also a Celtic Goddess of Fertility. Today is the first day of the Puck Fair, in which a goat is celebrated. Place an image of a goat on your altar and ask Aine for prosperity and a bountiful harvest. The Puck Fair is an old celebration of the Lammas festival, which continues to this day. Wear lunar items today. Make an oath to improve yourself and lose weight, stop smoking or exercise more. Ask Aine for physical healing that you may need or drink some tea that will help build your immune system. Have some potatoes today or drink some goat's milk or eat some goat's cheese with a salad.
