Hephaestus

Themes: metalwork, the fires of the forge, hard work and industry

Unlike the rest of the beautiful Greek pantheon, Hephaestus is small, ugly and lame. He's a God for the common man, ruling over metalwork, the fires of the forge, hard work and industry. He is famed among the Gods for his wonderful hand-crafted items, such as Zeus' thunderbolts.

His unattractive appearance didn't stop Him from getting married to the lovely Aphrodite. Unfortunately, it wasn't a willing marriage and She had many affairs, often with Ares (the Greek God of war).

His Roman name was Vulcan.
