The god who guards the Bifrost Bridge which is the entrance to Asgard. Heimdall can see for immense distances, and his ear is so sensitive that he can hear the grass grow. On the day of Ragnarok, Heimdall will blow the great horn Gjallarhorn, and in the ensuing battle he will slay Loki.
Heimdall is the Watcher of the Gods. He stands guard at Bifrost (the Rainbow Bridge) to look for the frost giants. Their arrival is a sign that Ragnorok has begun. When they arrive, Heimdall will alert the Gods by sounding his horn, Gjallar.
Heimdall is the son of Aegir’s nine daughters, the waves. He needs little sleep, can see in the dark, and his hearing is so acute that he can hear the grass grow. As Rig, which means Ruler, he begot Thrall, Carl and Earl – the three races of man.
Hemidall is the god of guards, sentries, nightwatchmen and any that find themselves as protectors of others.
He is the guardian of the gods who will blow the Giallar horn if danger approaches Asgard.

His hall was called Himinbjorg Heaven-protection and his horse was Gultopp Gold-top.
Heimdall was destined to be the last of the gods to perish at Ragnarok when he and Loki would slay one another.
