About Zaramama: AZaramama was known as the "grain mother" in ancient Peru. She was depicted as a human woman dressed in a robe and shawl adorned with a silver clasp. During her festivals, a lot of festive dancing was performed by her worshippers and cornstalks were burned, thereby asking for her blessings for a plentiful harvest. Beer was also consumed during her festival. She is said to be strongest at Lammas and Mabon.

To Honor this Goddess: Today is Independence day in Peru. Many parites will be had and all workers get the following day of work off. To ask for her blessing, grill some corn on your barbeque today, saving the husks for your altar. Singe the husk on the grill and then place it on the altar. Make a corn dolly from the husk of the corn. Wear silver today and some stone jewelry as this Goddess also has correspondences to those items. If you are able, have some beer during dinner, either alcoholic or non alcoholic. Place some pussy willows on your altar as well as those were sacred to Zaramama.
